2008 Senate Budget Hearings

As part of the state budget process, the Senate Appropriations Committee holds two weeks of public hearings in late February and early March to hear testimony on the proposed budgets for various state departments and agencies. The hearings give senators a chance to carefully review every budget request and to question Administration officials about funding for various programs. The information gathered will be used to craft a final state budget by the June 30 deadline.
