On Saturday June 7, 2008, I hosted my second annual Chester County Kids’ Fun
Fair at Lincoln University. The event was an enjoyable family experience
with a variety of programs, music, entertainment, and educational exhibits.
Representatives from state and local agencies and numerous area
organizations were on hand to provide valuable information on programs and
services available to families and children. The Philadelphia Zoo presented
its Zoo on Wheels "Born in the USA" show, the 4H TNT Aguilas Folkloric Dance
Troupe performed a show, the Franklin Institute offered its "Traveling
Science Hot and Cold Show," and McCormick Karate Academy performed a karate
demonstration.
Generous sponsors made the event possible, including Acme Markets,
Chester Water Authority, Comcast, Exelon Genesis Health Care, Franklin
Institute, Herr Foods Inc., Hershey Foods, J & L Entertainment, John C. Leo
& Son, LLC, Krapf Coaches, PECO Energy, Penn Brew Station, Sher-Rockee
Mushroom Farms, TLC Refreshments, Tastykake, Verizon, and Wawa Inc. Lincoln
University deserves special thanks for hosting the event.
The Kids’ Fun Fair was well received by the residents of southern Chester
County, and I appreciate all of those who took the time to come out for the
fun and informational activities. I look forward to bringing the event to
the 9th District again next year.
