On July 21, 2006, Senator Pileggi received the Pennsylvania Sherriff's Association Legislative Award. The Senator was recognized for his sponsorship of legislation providing benefits coverage to sheriffs and deputy sheriffs. This legislation amends Pennsylvania's Enforcement Officer Disability Benefits Law, commonly known as the "Heart and Lung Act."  Also pictured are Sheriff Carolyn Welsh of Chester County and Sheriff Joe McGinn of Delaware County.
