January 31, 2008 – Senator Pileggi and Governor Ed Rendell announced
$47 million in state funding toward a $414 million riverfront
development in the City of Chester. The project will include
townhouses and apartments, retail and office space, a convention
center, a multi-use stadium that is expected to be home to a
professional soccer team, and a riverside promenade at the foot of
