April 23, 2009 – Senator Pileggi was on hand for the groundbreaking for the new
home of The First Tee of Suburban Philadelphia. The facility, which will be
located at Eyre Park in the City of Chester, will eventually have both a
25-stall driving range and a learning facility/clubhouse. The First Tee is
dedicated to providing young people of all backgrounds an opportunity to develop

April 21, 2009 - Senator Pileggi met with Mr. Hakeem Lee of Chester, who was
visiting Harrisburg as part of the 45th Annual Pennsylvania 4-H Capital Days.
The purpose of this program is to increase the participating 4-H teens'
understanding of the roles and functions of state government. |

April 21, 2009 - Senator Pileggi met with Shashwat Kishore, a sixth-grade
student from West Chester, finishing third in the state MATHCOUNTS competition.
Shashwat will be representing Pennsylvania as a member of the state team at the
National Competition in May. The mission of MATHCOUNTS is to increase enthusiasm
for and enhance achievement in middle school mathematics throughout the United

April 21, 2009 - Fourth and fifth grade students from Nativity
BVM School in Media, Delaware County, visited the State Capitol Building.

April 13, 2009 - Senator Pileggi was on hand as Harrah's Chester
Casino and Racetrack donated a $250,000 grant to Delaware County Community
College. The grant will be used toward the construction of a new computer lab in
the college's new state-of-the-art science, technology, engineering and
mathematics facility. Pictured (left to right) are: Delaware County Community

April 7, 2009 - Fourth grade students from Upland Country Day School in
Kennett Square, Chester County, visited the State Capitol.

April 2, 2009 - Senator Pileggi toured the Allied Health Careers Academy at
Smedley High School in Chester, Delaware County. The Allied Health Careers
Academy is a collaborative program with Crozer-Chester Medical Center and
Chester Upland School District designed to prepare students for the medical
profession. Students will have the opportunity to work in classroom and clinical
