 October 29, 2009 – Senator Pileggi visited the Borough of Parkesburg to see the Segway Personal Transporters which the borough recently purchased to assist the police department. The Segways were purchased through a state grant secured by Senator Pileggi. |
October 29, 2009 - Senator Pileggi joined other dignitaries at the dedication of Westminster Place at Parkesburg, a new senior community which features 72 one- and two-bedroom apartments in downtown Parkesburg. This housing opportunity for low to moderate income seniors is a key component to Parkesburg's ongoing community revitalization efforts. October 20, 2009 – Senator Pileggi and Governor Ed
Rendell were among those who helped break ground on the Edgemont Senior
Apartments and Madison Senior Apartments, a new public housing
development at the site of the former Chester Towers in the City of
Chester. The new buildings are funded by a combination of funds from the
federal Hope VI Public Housing Revitalization Program development
initiative, grants from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and
Economic Development, and federal stimulus grants. (Click on

Adrienne Donaghue of Chadds Ford, a student at Villanova University’s College of
Engineering, participated in Undergraduate Research at the Capitol, an event
showcasing undergraduate research projects in Pennsylvania. Her poster on
Quantitative PCR to Access Pathogens in Goose Creek was displayed at the state
Capitol Building in Harrisburg. |
October 19, 2009 - Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi welcomed the
Pennsylvania State Senate's newest member, Senator Bob Mensch (R-24), who was
sworn in today to fill the unexpired term of former Senator Rob Wonderling.
