Pennsylvania Launches Avian Influenza Preparedness Website

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Senator Dominic Pileggi (R-9) announces to all constituents the creation of an official Commonwealth website addressing avian influenza, or bird flu, and ways to deal with this issue. 

The website, located at www.pandemicflu.state.pa.us, answers general questions about avian influenza; offers tips on how individuals, schools, local governments, businesses, and others can best prepare and protect themselves; and provides updates on the steps being taken in Pennsylvania. 

 "There is no immediate threat to human beings from avian influenza at this time," reminds Pileggi.  "However, information is a valuable tool in preparing yourself and your loved ones for the future.  I encourage all constituents to visit www.pandemicflu.state.pa.us to learn more about this illness and to learn how you can protect yourselves."
