PEDA Presents President's Award to Senator Pileggi

Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi (R-9) received the President's Award from the Pennsylvania Economic Development Association (PEDA) at a recent ceremony in Harrisburg.

"This award was given to Sen. Pileggi in appreciation for his many years of service on the front lines of local redevelopment efforts," said J. Patrick Killian, president of PEDA.

Sen. Pileggi "knows on a first-hand basis how to meet economic development needs because he has been doing it his entire career," Killian added. "He is personally committed to economic development in Pennsylvania."

The PEDA President's Award is not given on a regular basis and represents the highest accolade that can be bestowed by the state's economic development community. Killian said, "This award is given out in special recognition of extraordinary service rendered to the economic development community."

Sen. Pileggi said he was honored by the award and will continue to pursue effective economic development policies. "In a state like Pennsylvania, with a long and proud tradition of manufacturing and agriculture, the incredible economic changes of the past three decades have been a real challenge," he said. "But in recent years, we have made tangible progress in the area of economic development. We need to continue that."
