FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Clean Indoor Air Act Passes SenateThe Senate this week approved a measure to strengthen Pennsylvania's Clean Indoor Air Act to prohibit smoking in most public places and workplaces. Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi (R-9) voted in favor of the legislation, Senate Bill 246. "This was an important step for public health in Pennsylvania, and one that was long overdue," said Sen. Pileggi. "Now we have a foundational law that we can improve upon in years to come." The bill now goes to the governor, who is expected to sign it. It will become effective 90 days after the governor's signature. More information about state issues can be found on Sen.
