Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi - Statement on Passing of Lieutenant Governor Catherine Baker Knoll

Catherine Baker Knoll was a true ambassador for Pennsylvania. No one had more enthusiasm and energy, and no one spent more time promoting Pennsylvania.

As President of the Senate, Lieutenant Governor Knoll presided with class and dignity. Her passion for serving the people of Pennsylvania caused her to also be passionate about leading the Senate.

Catherine Baker Knoll was a ground-breaking politician, and as the first woman to win election as lieutenant governor her place in Pennsylvania's rich political history is firmly established.

She had friends around the world, and she will be missed by everyone who knew her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.
